The City of Oswego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of City Superintendent. This is an
administrative position that oversees the development, procurement, management, and maintenance of municipal
public works including streets, water, waste water and solid waste. The position may require hands on duties
at times. This position delegates authority of daily activities to departments and ensures the continuity of
municipal utility services. In addition, this position reviews department budgets and estimates for bidding
services, analyzes management information systems and recommendations for equipment utilization and service
levels. Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of public works including water, waste water, streets
and solid waste systems. This position is required to participate in Council Meetings, board/committee
meetings and special projects, code enforcement and as zoning administrator.
Successful candidates will have experience in public or business administration, environmental health or
related field. Strong written and oral communication skills; computer skills; five years of progressively
responsible experiences, including supervisory skills and or any combination of education, training and
experience which provides for the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential
functions of the job.
