ORDINANCE NO. 1339

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF OSWEGO, KANSAS, 2013, RELATING TO THE MAINTENANCE, MANAGEMENT, CONDUCTAND CONTROL OF THE WATER UTILITY OF SAID CITY OF OSWEGO BY AMENDING SECTION 15-222 OF SAID CODE RELATING TO THE RATES CHARGED CONSUMERS AND RURAL WATER DISTRICTS SERVED BY SAID CITY AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 1256 & 1279.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF OSWEGO, KANSAS:

SECTION 1.   Section 15-222 of the Code of the City of Oswego, Kansas is hereby amended to read as follows and these rates will become effective on February 9, 2015:

       (a) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all residential consumers within the city limits of Oswego:

         The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $23.98; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $9.54 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum          charge under this schedule is $23.98.

      (b) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all Commercial A & B consumers (those with ¾” and 1” meters) within the city limits of Oswego:

     The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $23.98; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $9.54 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $23.98.

      (c) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all Commercial C & D consumers (those with 2” and larger meters) within the city limits of Oswego:

     The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $23.98; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $8.88 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $23.98. 

     (d) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all consumers outside the city limits of Oswego, except rural water districts:

     The first 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof $42.40; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $16.99 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $42.40. 

    (e) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all rural water districts obtaining water from the city:

     $9.93 per 1,000 for each 1,000 gallons. 

 SECTION 2.   Section 15-222 of the Code of the City of Oswego, Kansas is hereby amended to read as follows, and these rates will become effective on August 10, 2015:

      (a) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all residential consumers within the city limits of Oswego:

     The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $26.76; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $10.65 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $26.76.

      (b) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all Commercial A & B consumers (those with ¾” and 1” meters) within the city limits of Oswego:

     The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $26.76; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $10.65 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $26.76.

      (c) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all Commercial C & D consumers   (those with 2” and larger meters) within the city limits of Oswego:

     The first 1,000 gallons or any fraction thereof is $26.76; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $9.91 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $26.76.

     (d) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all consumers outside the city limits of Oswego, except rural water districts:

     The first 1,000 gallons or fraction thereof $53.53; and each additional 1,000 gallons consumed is $21.30 per 1,000 gallons.  The minimum charge under this schedule is $53.53.                                                 

      (e) The following schedule of rates shall be charged to all rural water districts obtaining water from the city:

       $11.09 per 1,000 for each 1,000 gallons.

SECTION 5.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the official city newspaper.
