BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF OSWEGO, KANSAS:
THAT, the following days shall be paid holidays for city employees during the 2026 calendar year and the Oswego City Office shall be closed on these days:

Martin Luther King Day Monday, January 19, 2026
Presidents' Day Monday, February 16, 2026
Good Friday Friday, April 3, 2026
Memorial Day Monday, May 25, 2026
Independence Day Friday, July 3, 2026

HOW HOLIDAYS AFFECT TRASH SERVICE
When a holiday falls on a regular trash day which is Monday or Tuesday then that day’s trash service will be the following Wednesday. For instance the holiday falls on Monday. There will be NO interruption in Tuesdays trash service and Mondays trash is picked up on Wednesday. On a holiday week since Wednesday is being used as a regular trash service day then there are no leaf, brush or special bulk item pickups that day.
