Father/Daughter Dance
Keep Saturday, March 2nd on your calendars for the 5th annual Father/Daughter dance!
The dance starts at 6:00pm at the Oswego Community Building. This year’s theme is “The Sock Hop!” So break out those poodle skirts and come have a great time! There will be
snacks, beverages and a DJ. Photos will also be available to be taken with your date! This is a FREE event sponsored by the Oswego Rec Commission.

In the news
John Strickland and Jake Hine were recognized at the December Council Meeting as Mayor Cunningham presented a certificate of appreciation and gift cards for their years of service. John has been with the City for 30 years and Jake has been with the City for 10 years. Both are volunteers on the Fire Department. Congratulations Guys!!
October 2018 Newsletter
Oswego Rec Commission is set and ready for the annual trunk-or-treat held in downtown Oswego, Wednesday, October 31st at 6:30pm. The Haunted Library will open the doors on Halloween night at 5:30 pm and will be open until 9:00pm. Commercial Bank will be serving hot dogs from 5:00pm-6:00pm in the parking lot North of Realty. This event is for children birth through 5th grade. The Business and the public are invited to participate by passing out candy from their decorated cars, trucks, wagons, and SUV’s. No homemade candy please. There will be a $50.00 cash prize for 1st and $25.00 cash prize for 2nd place for the best decorated car, truck, wagon or SUV. Grown ups can dress in their costumes as well.
This is a safe and convenient way to distribute your treats. Last year we had over 450 kids participate.

Fall Citywide Garage Sale
The Chamber of Com-merce has set October 6th as the date for the Annual Fall City wide garage sale. The fee for a garage sale permit is $11.00. This includes your license, 2 garage sale signs, and a 25 word ad which will be listed on the map that is distributed among area businesses. The fee and ad must be submitted to the City Office no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, September 28th. The ad should contain your address and whether your sale will be held "rain or shine".
Maps will be handed out on Thursday, October 4th at the grocery store, con-venience stores and other local businesses. All garage sale participants must agree to NO previous sales and all items listed must be available on the day of the sale. You can pay your fees and pick up your license at the City Office at 703 Fifth Street.
Reminder: There is no clean up week after the fall garage sale.
